SAMHSA recently changed data collection tools and grantees are now using the new Unified Performance Reporting Tool (SUPRT) to collect and report client data. While some things have changed with the transition to the new tool, some things are staying the same.
What has changed?
- There are now two parts of the form, one for administrators (SUPRT-A) and one for clients (SUPRT-C)
- The “Refused” response option has been replaced with “Prefer not to answer” or “Prefer not to respond”
- There is no longer a formal follow-up rate requirement
- There are new requirements for client ID numbers, with ID numbers for the SUPRT being shorter than for previous instruments
- More sections can now be completed by the provider outside of the interview
What is still the same?
- You can still complete the interview portion of the form virtually
- Clients can still be re-enrolled in services after discharge
- The character limit for write-in responses is still 50 characters
- The interview client portion of the form (SUPRT-C) can still be administered through interview
If your organization is interested in receiving technical assistance as you transition from GPRA reporting to the SUPRT, we would like to make the transition easier for your team. We can:
- Answer any questions you have about the new tool
- Help you manage transferring current clients’ paperwork to the new system
